ABOUT DR. MING-WEI WU
Dr. Ming-Wei Wu is a board certified general surgeon who specializes in wound care and surgery. Dr. Ming-Wei Wu graduated from UC San Diego and went to medical school at Western University. He attended his internship and general surgical residency at St. John’s Episcopal Hospital. Dr. Ming-Wei Wu later received his bariatric and laparoscopic fellowship training at Harrisburg, PA. For the last 8 years since 2005 he has been practicing in Las Vegas, NV.
Dr. Ming-Wei Wu is involved in many organizations such as American Board of Wound Management, American College of Osteopathic Surgeons and American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery. As the former president of the Las Vegas Chinese Medical Association, he is frequently involved in the community providing lectures and medical screenings. Dr. Ming-Wei Wu is fluent in Chinese (Mandarin) and English.
Dr. Ming-Wei Wu frequently lectures in different occasions. He is a clinical associate of Touro University and lectures to students on topics of general surgery and wound care. Dr. Ming-Wei Wu also represents Santyl, an enzymatic debridement topical agent, which he lectures to physicians, nurses and administrators. He travels to different cities to provide the lecture and exchange new concepts and innovations regarding wound care.
Wound care and surgery is the main focus of Dr. Ming-Wei Wu’s practice. This involves surgical debridement, amputation, fistulectomy, skin graft and wound closure. Dr. Ming-Wei Wu also manages negative pressure wound pressure therapy, extracellular matrix placement and basic wound treatment. He works at different hospitals, rehabilitation facilities, skilled nursing facilities, surgical centers and for debilitated patients, he works with home health providing care at home.
Since 2005, Dr. Ming-Wei Wu has been married to Dr. Julie Wu. Together they have 4 wonderful kids and reside in South West Las Vegas. Dr. Julie Wu currently practices primary care and works out of the same office as Dr. Ming-Wei Wu.
